Job Description

The Internet Sales Manager manages digital business prospects to enhance the internet car buying experience. They develop connections with prospective customers primarily via internet and technologically based channels.

Responsibilities
  • Study the dealership's customer base and the automotive retail market in the area to develop effective programs for soliciting internet business.
  • Pull inquiries from the Customer Relationship Management system (CRM) and respond to inquiries via phone, text, chat, or email based on the customer's expressed preference.
  • Serve as the first-level expert on products, services and the purchase process.
  • Construct and perform presentations to improve the dealer internet sales process acumen of OEM and dealership sales staff.
  • Convert inquiries to dealership visits.
  • Manage and structure deals.
  • Sell/lease and deliver a minimum number of units per month.
  • Assist customers in selecting vehicles.
  • Maintain an ongoing customer database to capture repeat business.
  • Establish personal income goals consistent with dealership standards of productivity and devise a strategy to meet those goals.
  • Attend product and sales training as requested by the sales manager.
  • Attend sales meetings.
  • Set appointments for test drives and further selection/purchase support.
  • Adhere to customer communication scripts.
  • Analyze the current dealership internet sales landscape and consult with senior Regional/Area and dealership personnel regarding strategy, tactics, roles and responsibilities.
  • Drive consistent adoption and utilization of the retailer's existing technologies.
  • Ensure 100% of contact activity by recording customer information in the CRM in real time.
  • Develop/maintain relationships with related store personnel.
  • Meet or exceed individual performance objectives (e.g., response time, conversions).
  • Be directly responsible for managing designated employees, including hiring, policy and procedure execution, time and attendance management, disciplinary proceedings, and disbursement and enforcement of training and information per SOAG policy, procedures, SOPs, and guidelines.
  • Maintain professional appearance.
  • Other tasks as assigned.
Required

  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Ability to work nights and weekends as required.
Education and Experience
  • Two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Associates degree (A.A.) from a two-year college or university preferred.
  • Must be able to pass a background check, drug screening, and motor vehicle report.
