Job Title

Y-Tech Services Inc Regular Aircraft Mechanic I – C-130 Structures

Description

The Aircraft Mechanic I performs inspection, troubleshooting, repair, and modification of aircraft structures, structural components and aircraft systems of moderate difficulty. Responsibilities include fabricating repair or replacement parts, troubleshooting systems, evaluating technical data, and maintaining schedules for assigned projects.

Responsibilities
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair aircraft structures, wings, fuselage, and related components.
  • Fabricate repair or replacement parts using jigs, fixtures, forms, and molds.
  • Apply advanced metalworking practices to form, bend, and fasten replacement parts to damaged structures.
  • Read and interpret manufacturers’ and maintenance manuals, service bulletins, technical data, engineering directives, and specifications.
  • Perform mechanical, structural, electrical, and hydraulic system maintenance and provide solutions to moderate to complex problems.
  • Adjust, repair, or replace electrical system wiring and aircraft accessories.
  • Conduct preflight, thru‑flight, basic post‑flight, and corrosion inspections.
  • Perform refuel/defuel operations and serve as a jack and tow team member/supervisor.
  • Provide miscellaneous aircraft servicing, including Lox, hydraulic and engine oil, tire service, and aircraft lube operations.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years aircraft structural maintenance experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of aircraft structural and mechanical systems, with ability to solve moderate to complex problems.
  • Ability to interpret technical orders, blueprints, and written guidance for repairs and modifications.
  • Broad working knowledge of the C‑130J/H aircraft systems: hydraulics, structures, engines, refuel pods, and electrical systems.
  • Experience performing periodic, hourly, special, or calendar inspections.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical theory and proficiency with unique tools (test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, powered/non‑powered support equipment).
  • Proficient in using USAF Technical Orders, the Data Transfer and Diagnostic System (DTADS), AFTO
    781 forms, and the Integrated Maintenance Data System (IMDS).
  • Experience documenting in aircraft logs and records and prioritizing workload to meet schedules.
  • Familiarity with handling HAZMAT/HAZWASTE materials.
Desired Skills
  • Six (6) years of experience on at least one AFSOC C‑130 MDS.
  • Heavy structure modification experience on the C‑130J.
  • Prior C‑130 isochronal/letter‑check experience.
  • Three (3) years of C‑130J flight‑line aircraft experience.
Security Clearance

This position requires a US citizenship and a government security clearance at the Secret level.

Schedule & Location

Work will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The schedule is a non‑standard 40‑hour work week as assigned by the leader.
