Role Description The Heating Air Conditioning Service Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in the Fort Walton Beach–Destin area. The technician will diagnose and troubleshoot issues with residential and commercial HVAC systems, perform routine and preventive maintenance, and complete repairs on heating, cooling, and related equipment. Daily responsibilities include responding to service calls, inspecting systems for performance and safety, recommending solutions, and documenting work accurately.
The role also involves communicating clearly with customers, explaining findings and options, and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction. Technicians are expected to follow all safety guidelines, maintain tools and vehicles in good condition, and collaborate with team members and leadership as needed.
Qualifications
- Strong troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve HVAC performance issues efficiently.
- Experience with maintenance & repair tasks, including routine service and component replacement.
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance practices to extend equipment life and improve system reliability.
- Commitment to customer satisfaction, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally on-site.
- EPA certification (or ability to obtain) for safe and compliant handling of refrigerants.
- Prior experience as an HVAC service technician or in a related mechanical or technical field.
- Understanding of basic electrical and mechanical principles related to HVAC systems.
- Ability to work safely with tools, ladders, and equipment, and to lift moderate weights as required.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for travel to job sites within the service area.
- High school diploma or equivalent; trade school training or HVAC certification is preferred.
