Job Details:
Location – Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram Fiat Fort Walton – Fort Walton Beach, FL 32548. Position – Full Time. Travel – Negligible. Shift – Day.

Service Technician Levels
  • A Class: Skilled-level technician able to diagnose and repair across all areas, specialized in certain repair areas, previously worked as a B-Class general service technician.
  • B Class: Experienced technician who can diagnose and repair most vehicle components with minimal supervision, previously worked as a C-Class general service technician.
  • C Class: Performs most assigned tasks with some supervision, requiring average mechanical knowledge.

Standard Duties/Responsibilities
  • Perform work as outlined on repair order efficiently and accurately, in accordance with dealership and factory standards with limited or no supervision.
  • Communicate with parts department to obtain needed parts.
  • Save and tag parts of the job if under warranty or requested by the customer.
  • Examine assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended.
  • Communicate with service advisor immediately if additional work is needed, if outlined work is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time.
  • Document all work performed and recommended on the repair order.
  • Road test vehicles when required or refer to the test technician.
  • Participate in manufacturer-sponsored training programs, schools and events.
  • Keep abreast of manufacturer technical bulletins.
  • Report machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor.
  • Ensure customers' cars are kept clean and notify service advisor immediately of any changes in appearance or condition.
  • Keep shop area neat and clean.
  • Maintain and be accountable for all dealership-owned tools and manuals, returning them to the proper place and condition.
  • Understand and comply with federal, state and local regulations such as hazardous waste disposal and OSHA Right-to-Know.
  • Operate all tools and equipment safely.
  • Report any safety issues immediately to management.
  • Ensure customer vehicles are kept clean and returned in their original condition.
  • Other tasks as assigned.
A Class Duties/Responsibilities

  • Supervise the work of any apprentice technicians as assigned.
B Class Duties/Responsibilities
  • Diagnose the cause of most malfunctions and perform repair.
  • Supervise the work of any apprentice technicians as assigned.
C Class Duties/Responsibilities
  • Diagnose vehicle problems based on customer complaints and inspection.
  • Install optional equipment specified by the customer or dealer.
Standard Required Skills/Abilities
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Must be on time and work the entirety of the scheduled shift.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and manage a variety of concrete variables.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks within their workstation.
  • Act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Interpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and handle abstract and concrete variables.
  • Apply common sense to follow detailed but uncomplicated written or oral instructions.
  • Operate hand, power, and shop tools and use computer diagnostic equipment.
  • Operate overhead and floor‑mounted oil and grease guns, transmission machines, air‑conditioner service machines, radiator service machines, hand tools, and shop equipment.
  • Lift and move work‑related items up to 50 pounds.
  • Push, pull, lift, and bend at the knees and waist, twist the body at the waist, raise and hold arms overhead, and turn head‑neck‑shoulders as needed.
A Class Required Skills/Abilities
