Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics or related technical field
- Demonstrated proficiency with at least one modern software language such as C++, C, C#, and/or Java (preferably C++)
- Experience with one or more of the following:
Python, JavaScript, HTML - Strong analytical/problem‑solving abilities; effective communication for cross‑team coordination; willingness to work irregular hours during rehearsals.
- Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
- Proficiency in Git Version Control System
- Software development on a Linux environment
- Experience with JIRA and Confluence
- Automation with Ansible
- Experience with Vue JavaScript (VueJS)
- Experience with flight simulation, aerodynamics modelling, weapons, avionics, electronic warfare, radar
- Understanding of DIS, or other simulation protocols; experience with LVC concepts
- Security+ Certification
At Lockheed Martin, we develop cutting‑edge training systems and solutions for the U.S. Air Force. This Software Engineer role supports the sustainment and development of training systems for C-130J, CV-22, other high‑fidelity Aircrew Training Devices (ATDs), and the Mission Rehearsal Operation Center (MROC).
This position is located at customer facilities at Hurlburt Field, Florida, and may require occasional travel, including both CONUS and OCONUS destinations. The role requires obtaining an Interim Secret level U.S. government security clearance before starting and U.S. citizenship is mandatory.
Responsibilities- Work within an integrated product team of Hardware, Software, Systems, and Test Engineers to maintain and update Air Force Flight Simulators and the MROC.
- Provide development, integration, and sustainment support for the Distributed Mission Operations (DMO) Live‑Virtual‑Constructive (LVC) mission rehearsal systems.
- Support LVC Mission Rehearsals: deploy and configure live, virtual, and constructive environments for scheduled rehearsals, monitor system health, troubleshoot runtime issues, and provide rapid resolution during exercises.
- Develop software solutions for flight simulators and the MROC.
- Integrate new technologies into various systems.
- Support requirements analysis, design, development, integration, and test of real‑time software.
Onsite Full‑time:
The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
