Software Engineer Senior

We are hiring a Senior Software Engineer to support training systems for high‑fidelity Aircrew Training Devices (ATDs) including C‑130J and CV‑22. The role involves collaboration across hardware, software, systems, and test engineering to maintain and advance flight simulators.

• Work within an integrated product team to maintain and update Air Force flight simulators.
• Research and troubleshoot solutions to technical issues.
• Develop software solutions for flight simulator discrepancies and upgrades.
• Support requirements analysis, design, development, integration, and test of real‑time software.
• Support system design and architecture development for complex systems.

Position located at customer facilities at Hurlburt Field, Florida. May require occasional travel, including both CONUS and OCONUS destinations.

Candidate must obtain an Interim Secret level U.S. government security clearance before starting with Lockheed Martin. U.S. citizenship is required for consideration.

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or related technical field.
• Demonstrated proficiency in C/C++ programming.
• Experience with hardware integration.
• Linux system administration.

• Previous experience with real‑time software development.
• Previous experience with Ada.
• Intermediate network troubleshooting skills.
• Operating system experience:
  Windows Server/Desktop, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, VSphere/ESXi, Hyper‑V, containerization.
• Scripting experience:
  Bash, Python, YAML.
• Development environment: VSCode, git, CMake, CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with hardware interfaces such as RS‑232, RS‑422, ARINC‑429, Mil‑Std 1553, CANBUS.
