Accountant, Financial Reporting, Accounting Manager

An established Manufacturing and Retail firm is seeking a detail oriented Accountant with a strong foundation in generally accepted accounting principles and inventory management. This individual will play a key role in financial reporting, reconciliations, and process improvement initiatives within an automated accounting environment.

The Accountant ensures the integrity and accuracy of financial data by verifying transactions, maintaining internal controls, and reviewing accounting policies and procedures. This role is responsible for the accurate and timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial statements in accordance with GAAP.

The Accountant will oversee General Ledger reconciliations, support intercompany transactions, and prepare internal and external reports for management and regulatory requirements.

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial statements in accordance with GAAP
• Perform monthly General Ledger account reconciliations including accrued expenses, other assets, and liabilities
• Reconcile and report intercompany receivable and payable balances, including coordination with international affiliates
• Ensure proper accounting for inventory transactions including purchasing, transfers, sales, and consignment stock
• Prepare required internal management reports and external governmental filings
• Identify automation and process improvement opportunities to streamline accounting workflows
• Participate in special projects and cross functional initiatives as needed
• Maintain compliance with internal controls and accounting policies

• Bachelors or Associates degree in Accounting or related field
• 1-5 years of general accounting experience
• Experience in a manufacturing or inventory driven environment preferred
• CPA designation is a plus
• Experience with JD Edwards or similar ERP system
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Access
• Solid understanding of GAAP
