Urgent Care Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP)

Location: Fort Washington, MD

Patriot Urgent Care is a leading urgent care operator in Maryland. This role requires a compassionate, efficient Advanced Practice Provider who thrives in a fast‑paced clinical environment.

Job Overview

The primary responsibility is to evaluate, diagnose, and treat acute illnesses and injuries. The provider will manage episodic and chronic conditions with walk‑ins and same‑day appointments, perform minor office procedures, conduct various physicals, and evaluate patients for workers’ compensation injuries. The position focuses on patients ages 2 and up and serves as the sole advanced practice provider at the clinic.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat acute illnesses and injuries
  • Manage episodic and chronic conditions with walk‑ins and same‑day appointments
  • Perform minor office procedures including laceration repair, incision and drainage, orthopedic splinting and related treatments
  • Perform physicals such as sports, DOT, pre‑employment, and annual
  • Evaluate patients for workers’ compensation injuries
Qualifications
  • 2+ years’ experience as a Family Nurse Practitioner
  • Master’s degree (Family Nurse Practitioner) and appropriate state license
  • Knowledge of state and federal regulations including OSHA, HIPAA, blood borne pathogens, and related compliance standards
  • Detail‑oriented and confident in medical best practices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Competence with common PC applications, Microsoft Office and EMR applications
  • Experience with occupational health practices including DOT qualification, drug testing protocols, and physicals
  • Respect and autonomy in decision‑making
  • Team‑based approach to patient care
  • ACLS / BLS certifications (provided if needed)
