Position: Clinical Administrator Registered Nurse (RN), Night Shift, Nursing Administration

Job Overview

Fort Washington Medical Center seeks to hire an experienced Clinical Administrator Registered Nurse (RN) for the Nursing Administration Department.

Responsibilities

As a Clinical Administrator, you will:

  • Model and encourage professional practice that includes nurse autonomy, authority, accountability, and responsibility within their unit.
  • Operationalize the strategic plan for the Nursing Administration department and the hospital.
  • Establish expectations for staff and appropriately provide resources for care.
  • Adhere to and stay abreast of organizational policies and procedures; serve as a resource to nurses and others in the department and organization.
  • Demonstrate effective communication, conflict resolution, team building, and leadership skills, acting as the patient representative during evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Ensure that all infection control precautions and procedures are followed in the nursing department.
  • Conduct hospital nursing unit rounds to monitor census and staffing; make recommendations when appropriate.
  • Conduct daily bed huddles in Nursing Administration with nursing and bed‑control staff to provide an overview of the current status of the hospital including admissions, surgeries, transfers, and discharges to facilitate throughput.
  • Investigate and assist in the resolution of significant events such as near misses, adverse events, patient/family complaints, and any situation that affects the safe delivery of patient‑centered care in a timely manner.
  • Execute all other duties as required.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a minimum of an Associate of Science degree required;
    Bachelor’s Degree required; MSN preferred.
  • Valid Maryland RN license required.
  • Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • Five years of work experience in acute care setting, two years in a leadership position.
  • Two years of supervisory/management experience required.
  • Certification in department‑specific area within the first year of the position.
Work Schedule
  • Employment Type:

    Full‑time.
  • Hours per Week: 36 hrs/week.
  • Typical Daily

    Schedule:

    7:00 pm – 7:00 am.
  • Shift Type:
    Night.
  • Weekend Requirements: every other weekend rotation.
  • Holiday Requirements: rotating holidays.
  • Shift Differential Eligible:
    Yes.
Pay Range

$39.96 – $59.94 per hour.

Under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), this position is classified as United States of America (Non‑Exempt).
