Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Fort Wayne, Indiana. This is a Contract position that requires expertise in managing financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reconciliations. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills and a collaborative mindset, contributing to the accuracy of financial records and supporting month-end processes.

Responsibilities:

- Perform accurate and timely journal entries to maintain the integrity of financial records.

- Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring transactions are properly documented and reconciled.

- Manage month-end close activities, including the preparation of financial reports and reconciliation of accounts.

- Conduct detailed account reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of financial data.

- Assist in the transition and integration of financial tools and systems to enhance operational efficiency.

- Collaborate with team members to address discrepancies and improve financial processes.

- Maintain compliance with company policies and accounting standards.

- Provide support for audits and financial reviews as needed.

- Deliver excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders.

- Adapt to flexible working hours, including Monday through Thursday shifts and modified Friday schedules. Requirements - Proven experience in accounting roles, with expertise in journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close processes.

- Proficiency in managing accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.

- Familiarity with accounting software, preferably M1 or similar systems.

- Strong attention to detail and ability to handle transactional work accurately.

- Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset.

- Ability to work independently while meeting deadlines.

- Knowledge of accounting principles and standards.

- Flexibility to adapt working hours and schedules as required.
