Staff Accountant

Description

A growing manufacturing organization has partnered with Robert Half to bring in a full‑time contract Staff Accountant to their plant‑level finance team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced production environment, enjoys digging into cost and inventory data, and is committed to delivering accurate, timely financial insights.

What You'll Do

+ Month‑end close activities including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial accuracy checks

+ Cost accounting support such as standard cost updates, variance analysis, and margin review

+ Inventory‑focused work including cycle counts, audits, and reconciliation of discrepancies

+ Preparation of financial reports and participation in process improvement initiatives

+ Close collaboration with plant operations and leadership to validate data and strengthen financial controls

This is an on-site opportunity in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Requirements

+ 2+ years of accounting experience; manufacturing or plant accounting experience strongly preferred

+ Strong proficiency in Excel and experience working within an ERP environment

+ A detail‑driven, analytical mindset with the ability to communicate findings clearly

+ Comfort working cross‑functionally and supporting operational teams
