We are currently seeking a full-time, on-site Business Assistant in our Administrative Business Services office. This position will assist the Business Manager for Enrollment Management and the Student Experience and TRIO Programs in providing financial information and business office services to the various units. The pay for this position is $17.00/hr.
Primary Responsibilities:- Serves as an initial resource and point of contact for all departments within Enrollment Management and the Student Experience and TRIO Programs, communicating and implementing university guidelines.
- Prepare, process and resolve discrepancies for various internal and external documents including: ZV60 payments, journal vouchers, intramural invoice vouchers, budget transfers, and CRV deposits.
- Keys ZV60s into SAP.
- Audits documents prepared by the departments and helps resolve any issues that may arise.
- Follows-up on the status of purchases and payments.
- Works directly with Department Heads and designees assisting with budgetary matters.
- Works as directed by Business Manager on tracking of grants and maintenance of post-award grant processes, materials and reports.
- Supports and trains departments regarding SAP utilization.
- Uses SAP daily to review, prepare and audit account information.
- Serves as a resource and initial point of contact for all branches of Purdue Fort Wayne Student Government regarding business office procedures and university policies.
- Serves as a resource and initial point of contact for potentially up to 100 student organizations regarding business office procedure and university policies.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma/GED required.
- Three years general office experience working with accounting, human resources or other business-related functions required.
- Working knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software.
- Basic math and accounting knowledge.
- Excellent organization/prioritization skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work with interruptions.
- Associate degree in accounting, business or related field preferred.
- University experience with accounting processes, experience with ERP system and experience working with students preferred.
