Administrative Assistant - Student Help Desk; Media Center

Terms of Employment

Part-time, 9 month position for 4 hours/day. Eligible for PTO only.

Provide student-centered administrative and clerical support through the operation of the Homestead High School Student Help Desk and library support services. Assist students, staff, and visitors by helping maintain an organized, welcoming, and efficient environment while supporting daily operations related to student services, library functions, and school-wide activities.

• High school diploma required; associate degree or prior school office/library experience preferred
• Previous experience in customer service, clerical support, school office support, or library services preferred
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively with high school students, staff, and families
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced school environment
• Proficiency with Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and commonly used educational technology platforms
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment
• Positive, flexible, and student-centered approach to problem solving and support
• Demonstrates professionalism, reliability, and dependability
• Maintains confidentiality at all times
• Works collaboratively with staff while also operating independently
• Builds positive relationships with students and contributes to a welcoming school environment
