We are looking for an Assistant Field Engineer to join our Operations team on our project in Richmond, VA. This is a full‑time position.

• Operate electronic total station instrument, transit, Auto‑level and other surveying instruments.
• Read, review, and interpret maps, drawings and diagrams.
• Set and mark stakes for slopes, grades and other construction purposes.
• Determine lines, corners, elevations, grades, alignments, angles, positions and distances; maintain total station, field book, survey equipment and tools; perform related field and office engineering work.

Required:

• Possess 2 years of construction/surveying experience.
• Strong communication and time management skills.
• Proficient computer skills, including the ability to navigate and use standard business software and systems.
• Must have a complete understanding of surveying math.
• Must be agile/mobile, remain alert, be able to stand or walk for long periods of time, and use fingers, hands & arms to reach, handle and manipulate objects; climb up and down ladders, scaffolds, and other objects.
• Work on uneven surfaces/heights, be able to read/write, and have adequate vision and hearing either naturally or with correction.
• Must be able to lift and carry materials of all shapes and sizes weighing 50-100 lbs.; this must be done 75% of the time.

• Abilities to work in an OSHA compliant safety environment.
• Ability to work outside.
• Ability to work overtime and weekend hours.
• Punctuality and promptness required every day.
