Building Project Overseer
We have an exciting opportunity for a Building Project Overseer in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Our client is seeking candidates at both the Project Manager and Senior Project Manager levels, depending on experience. Relocation support is available for qualified individuals looking to relocate to Fort Wayne.
This role offers growth potential with a well-established construction company specializing in commercial and industrial projects, such as schools, churches, and other non-residential buildings. Experience in residential construction alone will not be considered.
The Building Project Overseer will oversee construction projects from start to finish, collaborating with clients, field leaders, subcontractors, and internal teams to deliver safe, high-quality work on time and within budget.
Duties include:
- Managing commercial and industrial construction projects from beginning to end
- Serving as a primary point of contact for clients, subcontractors, field teams, and internal management
- Developing and managing project schedules, budgets, change orders, billing documents, and project archives
- Reviewing drawings, scopes of work, contracts, specifications, and project requirements
- Conducting project meetings, monitoring progress, resolving issues, and keeping stakeholders updated
- Evaluating subcontractor performance, job expenses, safety measures, quality standards, and compliance
- Providing support, guidance, and coordination to project teams to promote accountability and achieve results
Requirements:
- Previous experience in commercial or industrial construction project management
- Background with a commercial design-build contractor highly preferred
- Familiarity with Procore, Bluebeam, Adobe, and Timberline/Sage desired
- Solid understanding of construction techniques, scheduling, budgeting, and documentation
- Ability to interpret plans, specifications, scopes, and contracts
- Excellent communication, leadership, organization, and problem-solving abilities
- Degree in construction management, engineering, civil engineering, or related field preferred
