Safety Manager – Data Center Construction | Fort Wayne, IN Join Next Level Technician as a Safety Manager in Fort Wayne, IN! Responsibilities Safety Program Implementation & Compliance
  • Implement and enforce site safety policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, client safety standards, and site-specific requirements.
  • Conduct routine site audits and inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance.
  • Partner with project managers, subcontractors, and field supervisors to proactively resolve safety concerns.
  • Serve as the primary safety liaison between project leadership, subcontractors, and clients.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of safety inspections, permits, corrective actions, and compliance records.
  • Develop and manage safety schedules for inspections, audits, and required training.
  • Monitor safety metrics and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Hazard Identification & Risk Mitigation
  • Maintain and enforce the Site-Specific Health and Safety Plan (SSHSP).
  • Review and approve Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and Pre-Task Plans (PTPs).
  • Enforce PPE requirements, fall protection, electrical safety, and MEWP compliance.
  • Develop emergency response procedures and coordinate emergency drills.
  • Ensure subcontractors meet all safety requirements through ongoing audits and oversight.
  • Coordinate with local emergency responders and medical personnel as needed.
Incident Response & Documentation
  • Lead investigations into incidents, injuries, and near misses.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
  • Prepare detailed incident reports for project leadership and clients.
  • Track trends and implement strategies to reduce future incidents.
  • Ensure all reporting meets OSHA and client requirements.
Training & Safety Leadership
  • Conduct new hire and subcontractor safety orientations.
  • Lead daily toolbox talks, weekly safety meetings, and safety stand‑downs.
  • Provide hands‑on training in hazard recognition and emergency response.
  • Maintain training records, certifications, and compliance documentation.
  • Track safety KPIs including incident rates, audit scores, and near‑miss reporting.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of construction safety experience (data center experience strongly preferred).
  • OSHA 510 Certification is REQUIRED.
  • Strong knowledge of: OSHA construction standards Fall Protection Mobile Elevated Work Platforms (MEWPs) Electrical Safety Lockout/Tagout Experience leading safety programs on commercial or industrial construction projects.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to engage both field personnel and project leadership.
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills.
