Position Overview

The Project Safety Specialist II serves as a key partner to operations and project leadership, providing guidance and oversight to ensure compliance with company, customer, and regulatory safety requirements.

This role is responsible for supporting field operations through hazard identification, safety planning, employee engagement, training initiatives, incident prevention, and continuous improvement efforts. The successful candidate will be an experienced safety professional capable of leading site-specific safety programs while fostering collaboration and accountability throughout the project team.

What You'll Do
  • Lead project-level safety programs on active industrial and commercial construction sites
  • Create, implement, and maintain project-specific safety plans
  • Conduct new employee and subcontractor safety orientations
  • Partner with project management and field leadership to support safe work execution
  • Facilitate pre-task planning and job hazard analysis activities
  • Coordinate emergency response planning and preparedness initiatives
  • Perform routine jobsite safety inspections and compliance assessments
  • Support incident investigations and corrective action implementation

  • Deliver toolbox talks, safety meetings, and specialized training programs
  • Monitor compliance with OSHA standards and customer-specific requirements
  • Maintain project safety documentation, records, and reporting systems
  • Verify employee training, certifications, drug testing requirements, and site qualifications
  • Promote proactive hazard recognition and risk mitigation strategies
  • Maintain strong client relationships and represent CCC professionally during safety meetings
  • Encourage employee engagement through observation, coaching, and continuous improvement efforts
Qualifications Required
  • OSHA 30 Certification
  • OSHA 510 Certification
  • BCSP Safety Trained Supervisor Construction (STS-C)
  • Experience supporting industrial construction and heavy commercial construction projects
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety practices
  • Ability to work independently and provide field leadership
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
