Multimedia Journalist​/Producer

Job Overview

WANE is looking for a multi‑media journalist ready to take their skills to the next level in a newsroom that fosters growth and development.

• Produce, report, shoot, write, voice, edit, and feed news production content for broadcast and digital platforms.
• Work independently and as part of a small team; cover weekend events and fill a variety of vacancies as needed.
• Research, interview, and attend events (political, news, sports, artistic, social, etc.) to gather information.
• Pitch stories to news managers and receive assignments to develop story ideas.
• Arrange and conduct interviews with relevant sources.
• Write and revise copy, ensuring accuracy, proper grammar, and compliance with editorial style and formatting guidelines.
• Edit and master all own content for clarity, emphasis, length, and format.
• Deliver reports to audiences on all platforms and present news segments on air.
• Interact with viewers and users on social media sites.
• Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
• Fluency in English with strong oral and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in ad‑libbing and meeting tight deadlines.
• Ability to prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
• Pass background screening.
