• Supports and implements the program of the Mild Disabilities teacher.
• Acts as an extension of the teacher in the Mild Disabilities and general education classrooms through an integrated program.
• Assists with assignments and implements behavior plans.
• Prepare the necessary instructional materials according to the teacher’s direction.
• Other responsibilities as needed and determined by the Special Education Director.

• Completion of two years of study (60+ hours) at an institution of higher education or possession of an associate’s (or higher) degree is preferred.
• Previous experience as a classroom assistant desirable.
• Candiate must have a sincere interest in working with students in the learning process.
• Effective communication skills.
• Ability to take direction.
• Initiative and dependability in carrying out assignments.
• Patience and genuine interest in education of students.
• Awareness and respect for student diversity.
• Clerical skills, flexibility, and confidentiality required.
• Training for this position will be implemented upon hiring.
