JOB SUMMARY: With consultation of the Psychological and Social Sciences Division Director,this adjunct faculty member is responsible for the instruction of graduate courses that support division’s graduate programs.
Major Responsibilities/Activities
- Adheres to all university academic and employment policies identified in the Employee and Faculty handbooks and academic catalogs
- Respects the moral and religious beliefs of the university and students; uses discretion when expressing personal beliefs and views
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Division Director or college Dean
Minimum Qualifications
Education
- Doctoral degree (e.g., PhD or PsyD) in Clinical Mental Health Counseling or School Counseling with licensure preferred
- Doctoral degree (e.g., PhD or PsyD) in general areas of Psychology preferred
- Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling or School Counseling with licensure considered
- Master’s Degree in general areas of Psychology considered
- Experience teaching in higher education preferred
- Experience teaching at the graduate level preferred
- Demonstrates an understanding of educational theory, instructional methods, evaluation techniques, and use of technology typically utilized in higher education in a classroom setting
- Demonstrates analytical and organizational skills necessary to plan, implement, and evaluate educational activities to assure compliance with established teaching goals and objectives
- Demonstrates strong interpersonal and communication skills, verbal and written, necessary to interact effectively with all university constituents
