Alyssum Montessori's Lower Elementary Supporting Teacher

The Montessori Lower Elementary Support Teacher assists the lead teacher in providing a nurturing, stimulating, and prepared Montessori environment for students ages 6 to 9 (Grades 1-3). The support teacher works collaboratively to help implement Montessori principles, ensure the smooth running of the classroom, and support students' academic, social, and emotional development.

Additonal Roles Include:

* Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce lessons or support differentiated learning.

* Assist in managing classroom behavior using Montessori approaches and respectful communication.

* Observe students and record relevant notes on their development and progress.

* Supervise students during classroom work cycles, recess, lunch, and transitions.

* Help create and maintain classroom materials and Montessori works.

* Support Elementary Aftercare

* Support monthly Forest School

* Go on daily walks, with the students, in the downtown Fort Wayne area to the YMCA, Library and local Dance Collective

While we are looking for someone to support Monday-Friday, we do have some flexibility with the start time each day. We are very family friendly at Alyssum Montessori School.
