Jefferson| 6.5hr Autistic Disability 1:1 Special Education Assistant

Assist teachers with a variety of instructional, clerical, student management, and daily life activities for special education students in special education or general classrooms.

  Shifts typically occur between 7:15 am and 3:30 pm, with exact start and end times varying based on school needs and hours allocated.

Candidate must have a high school diploma or GED. Preferred experience working with students with special needs. Flexibility to meet changing student needs and strong tutorial skills. Ability to relate well with students, staff and parents. Strong desire to support young people’s success. Positive attitude and ability to complete tasks independently. Proficient office, computer, oral and written communication skills. Knowledge of child guidance principles and practices, basic instructional methods and techniques.

Willingness to supervise students in community settings. Will participate in training provided by the Special Education Department.

Position Type: Part‑Time
Salary: $16.01 to $19.03 per hour
