Job DescriptionPurpose: Assist teachers with a variety of instructional, clerical, student management, and daily life activities for special education students in special education or general classrooms.

- Work Hours: Shifts within 7:15am to 3:30pm; start and end times may vary based on school needs and hours allocated.

Candidate must have a high school diploma or GED. Preferred candidate with previous experience working with students with special needs. Must be flexible, possess strong tutorial skills, relate well with students, staff, and parents, and have a positive attitude. Must be able to complete tasks independently and possess strong office, computer, oral, and written communication skills. Incumbents must have knowledge of child guidance principles and basic instructional methods, be willing to supervise students in community settings, and participate in training provided by the Special Education Department.
Preferred for highly-qualified candidates:
Two years of college experience or a two-year degree from an accredited college; passed the Para-Pro Assessment; one year or 1,000 hours of previous employment with children; passed annual school-level evaluations; completed 48 college credit hours; CDA credentials.
