Adjunct Faculty (As‑Needed)

Adjunct Faculty are hired each semester on an as‑needed basis and can teach for 8 or 16‑week contracts. They create a learning environment that assists students in reaching their goals, providing effective instruction and assessment within the framework of common syllabi provided.

$45.45 per contact hour.

• Facilitate student learning by delivering assigned classes in accordance with college policy and course objectives.
• Make optimal use of available technology to enhance instructional methods.
• Supplement and alter lesson plans, assignments, tests, and materials where appropriate.
• Maintain accurate student records, grades, and other requirements.
• Engage with students proactively and regularly in meaningful ways that impact learning and create a positive experience.
• Demonstrate evidence of developing and implementing teaching strategies focused on engaging online students.
• Interact with students and coworkers in a professional and cooperative manner, complying with college policies, guidelines, and expectations.
• Maintain a safe, quality online educational environment.
• Promote an inclusive environment that reflects broad diversity and ensures every individual feels respected and valued.

• Strong working knowledge of current technologies appropriate to area of instruction.
• Meet faculty credentials outlined in ASOM 7.1 for the specific area(s) of instruction.
• Demonstrate appreciation, respect, and promotion of diversity of people, styles, and views.
• For Anatomy & Physiology faculty: meet discipline standards by holding an earned master’s or higher degree from a regionally accredited institution in a biological science, or a master’s or higher degree in any field with 18 graduate semester hours in biology‑related courses.
