Job Title: Middle School Science Teacher (Grades 6–8)
Location: Saint Joseph Catholic School
Position SummarySaint Joseph Catholic School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Middle School Science Teacher to inspire students in Grades 6–8 through engaging, hands‑on, and inquiry‑based instruction. The ideal candidate will foster curiosity, critical thinking, and a love of science while integrating Catholic values into daily instruction and classroom culture.
Key ResponsibilitiesPlan and deliver high‑quality science instruction aligned with Indiana Academic Standards and diocesan curriculum expectations
Teach life, earth, and physical science concepts using hands‑on labs, experiments, and real‑world applications
Develop lesson plans that promote inquiry, problem‑solving, and student engagement
Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners, including multilingual and special education students
Integrate technology and STEM‑based learning experiences into instruction
Assess student learning through formative and summative assessments and use data to guide instruction
Maintain a positive, structured, and faith‑filled classroom environment
Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum alignment, student support, and school initiatives
Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and behavior
Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school‑wide events
Qualifications PreferredBachelor’s degree in Education, Science, or related field
Valid Indiana teaching license or ability to obtain one
Classroom teaching experience preferred
Strong classroom management skills and ability to engage adolescent learners
Commitment to academic excellence and student growth
