Overview

Assist teachers with a variety of instructional, clerical, student management, and daily life activities for special education students in special education or general classrooms.

  Shifts typically from 7:15 am to 3:30 pm. Start and end times may vary.

• Assist teachers with instructional, clerical, student management, and daily life activities.
• Provide support to special education and general classroom students.
• Supervise students in community settings as directed.
• Participate in training provided by the Special Education Department.

• High school diploma or GED.
• Previous experience working with students with special needs (preferred).
• Strong tutorial, oral, and written communication skills.
• Ability to use office computer effectively.
• Strong desire to help young people succeed and a positive attitude.
• Flexible to meet changing student needs.
• Knowledge of child guidance principles, basic instructional methods, and techniques.
• Willingness to supervise students in community settings.
