This is a 9 month position for 8 hours per day. This position is eligible for benefits. Pay is based on experience and/or education, ranging from $13.58 - $20.24/hour.
PurposePartner with administration, counselors, teachers and other classified staff in implementing Tier I and II behavioral interventions associated with Strategies for Student Success (SSS) plans. These interventions include Directed Study Hall, Check-In/Check-Out and student-specific interventions generated in SSS problem solving meetings. May include general secretarial tasks, communication with and for counselors, monitoring students at risk, assistance in gathering required data/information on students who are in the SSS process, assistance with data collection for PBIS programs and perform other duties as assigned.
Facilitate In-School Suspension, Lunch Study and After-School Detention.
Completion of two years of study (60+ hours) at an institution of higher education or possession of an associate's (or higher) degree is preferred. Previous experience as a classroom assistant desirable. Candidates must have a sincere interest in working with students in the learning process. Effective communication skills. Ability to take direction. Initiative and dependability in carrying out assignments. Patience and genuine interest in education of students.
Awareness and respect for student diversity. Clerical skills, flexibility and confidentiality required. Training for this position will be implemented upon hiring.
