CDL Truck Instructor – Part or Full Time – Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
LocationTATS Fort Wayne, IN – Fort Wayne Campus.

Job OverviewInstruction will cover a 2‑week pre‑trip, maneuvers, and driving session. The program includes classroom instruction outdoors and in a truck. New classes begin every two weeks, each lasting two weeks. Part‑time (1 session per month) or full‑time (2 sessions per month, 80–160 hours per month) availability is accepted.
Responsibilities- Deliver CDL A manual semi‑truck driving instruction according to the existing curriculum.
- Conduct classroom instruction outdoors and within the truck.
- Maintain student records using current technology.
- Communicate effectively with students in both classroom and individual settings.
- Adhere to TATS/Ross Code of Conduct and Professional Ethics.
- Perform related tasks as needed.
- Minimum of 2 years recent truck driving experience.
- Valid CDL A with no restrictions; ability to drive and teach on a manual semi.
- Current CDL DOT Medical Card.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors, in all weather conditions, and stand or sit for extended periods.
- Ability to enter and exit semi‑tractor/trailers and perform driving related duties.
- Patience, flexibility, and willingness to learn.
- Professional demeanor, dress, and conduct as a representative of Ross.
- Ability to treat all students fairly and maintain objectivity.
- Visual and auditory ability to operate computer equipment, read materials, and use classroom equipment.
- Adaptation to a fast‑paced work environment and maintenance of credentials within expected time frames.
- Effective communication skills in classroom and individual settings.
- Commitment to quality and attention to detail.
- Pay $21–23.00 per hour.
