Pearl Arts is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Violin/Viola Instructor
to join our Music Academy faculty. This instructor will provide high-quality individual and/or group instruction to students of varying ages and skill levels, helping students develop strong musical foundations while building confidence, creativity, and a lifelong appreciation for music.
The ideal candidate is a passionate musician and educator who enjoys working with students in a supportive, collaborative environment and is committed to making music education accessible and engaging for all learners.
Responsibilities- Provide engaging violin and/or viola instruction to beginning, intermediate, and advanced students.
- Develop individualized lessons based on each student’s age, experience, goals, and learning style.
- Teach proper technique, posture, bowing, intonation, rhythm, music reading, and musical expression.
- Help students develop effective practice habits and encourage consistent progress.
- Prepare students for performances, recitals, ensembles, and other Pearl Arts events.
- Communicate regularly with students and, when appropriate, parents/guardians regarding progress and practice expectations.
- Maintain a positive, encouraging, and professional learning environment.
- Collaborate with other Pearl Arts instructors on ensemble opportunities, performances, and student programming.
- Participate in Pearl Arts concerts, showcases, recitals, or other Academy activities when applicable.
- Maintain accurate lesson schedules and communicate scheduling needs with Pearl Arts staff.
- Support the mission of Pearl Arts by contributing to a welcoming and inclusive environment for students and families.
Proficiency on violin and/or viola.
- Previous teaching experience preferred.
- Experience working with children, teenagers, and/or adult students.
- Strong knowledge of music theory, sight-reading, technique, and performance practices.
- Ability to work with students of varying experience levels and learning styles.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Dependable, professional, and enthusiastic approach to teaching.
- Formal music education or performance experience is preferred but not required for candidates with significant professional experience.
This is an independently contracted position
, with teaching hours based on student enrollment and instructor availability. Afternoon and Evening availability preferred
