Spanish Teacher

Purpose

The ideal candidate will have the ability to create a learning environment that challenges students at all ability levels and encourages inquiry, collaboration, and creativity in the target language. Teachers will be required to integrate technology into classroom activities; differentiate instruction; effectively utilize formative and summative assessments; use data to inform instruction; etc. The candidate will prepare and implement lesson plans aligned with district curriculum maps and state standards for content areas.

Certified teacher in the state of Indiana or Instructor acceptable to Higher Learning Commission. Ability and the desire to teach Dual Credit preferred. Major or minor is required in the target language, with specific teaching assignment to be determined based on need. Preferred candidates will have the ability to teach different levels of based on need. Study abroad experience preferred. Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Ability to work in a team environment. Degree required in the area of specialty. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable. Special consideration given to those with a master's degree in the content area.
