Substitute Teacher

PURPOSE

To fill the role of teacher when the regular teacher is unavailable creating a consistent and positive learning experience.

IMPORTANT DETAILS

• Work Schedule: School year
• Work Hours: Elementary School: 7:45am-3:45pm;
  Middle and High Schools: 7:10am-3:10pm

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma/GED/HSE
• 20 years of age or older to teach in the secondary schools
• 18 years of age or older to teach in the elementary schools
• Sincere belief in educating all students to high standards
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Ability to follow and implement instructions successfully

Substitute Teacher pay is based on completed education level and licensing:

• High School Diploma/GED/HSE: $110 per day
• Valid Indiana teaching license: $150 per day
• FWCS retired teacher w/valid Indiana teaching license: $170 per day
• Substitute Teacher pay for long‑term assignments:Non‑Licensed substitute teacher: $170 per day starting on the 16th consecutive day in the same assignment or if valid Indiana teaching license: contracted teacher daily rate starting on the 16th consecutive day in the same assignment

• Bachelor degree or above: $120 per day
