The RAN Field Integration Engineer will play a key role in delivering high‑quality field integration, troubleshooting, and on‑site support for Ericsson 4G/5G network deployments. This role is essential to ensuring smooth integrations, rapid fault resolution, and reliable site‑level performance in the Indiana market. Immediate availability and hands‑on RAN expertise are crucial to success.
DetailedJob Description
As a RAN Field Integration Engineer, you will support end‑to‑end integration and validation of Ericsson RAN sites, ensuring all hardware, transport, and service elements function at optimal levels. You will work directly in the field performing equipment installations, fiber/transport validation, troubleshooting, and automated or manual integrations. This position requires deep familiarity with Ericsson BBU platforms, integration workflows, and call testing methodologies.
You will collaborate closely with deployment teams to deliver high‑quality, on‑time site activations in a fast‑paced project environment. This is an excellent opportunity for engineers who thrive in hands‑on field work and rapid deployment cycles.
- Perform on‑site RAN equipment installation, integration, and commissioning for Ericsson 4G LTE and 5G sites.
- Conduct automated and manual integrations using ESI (Ericsson Site Integrator), ECI scripts, CV restore, and SIF files.
- Troubleshoot fiber loss, backhaul transport, and connectivity issues to ensure reliable site performance.
- Install, integrate, and validate Ericsson BBUs (5216/6630/6648/6651/6610).
- Execute SRS automated call testing, including E911 and NEA validation procedures.
- Identify, analyze, and resolve site‑level technical issues quickly and efficiently.
- Provide accurate on‑site reporting and documentation of integration outcomes and issues.
- Strong working knowledge of Ericsson 4G LTE and 5G technologies, including band frequencies.
- Advanced understanding of backhaul transport, fiber loss measurement, and troubleshooting.
- Proven hands‑on experience with Ericsson BBU platforms (5216/6630/6648/6651/6610).
- Experience using ESI for auto integrations with ECI scripts.
- Ability to perform manual BBU integrations (CV restore, SIF files).
- Skilled in SRS automated call testing, including E911 and NEA.
- Ability to quickly identify and resolve technical issues in the field.
- Must be local or within commuting distance to Fort Wayne, Indiana.
- Experience working with major U.S. carriers or large integration vendors.
- Familiarity with additional field test tools and transport validation equipment.
- Knowledge of RF basics and site‑level optimization checks.
- Strong documentation and reporting skills.
- Ability to work under tight deployment timelines.
Showcase specific examples of your Ericsson integrations—especially manual recoveries, ESI‑based automations, or challenging fiber/transport troubleshooting. Concrete field achievements dramatically increase your chances of being shortlisted for RAN integration roles.
