Job Description Summary Oversees the design, testing, installation and maintenance of large-scale electronic equipment or machinery for use in manufacturing. Projects range from basic to complex, requiring management of resources and independent judgment and decision-making.
Develops and implements controls engineering procedures and techniques.
Prepares and manages an annual budget around several projects.
Job Description:
Supervises a team of controls engineers; holds them accountable to deliver identified projects on or ahead of schedule, at or under budget, that meet internal customer requirements.
Interfaces with operational personnel throughout the project to gather requirements, ensure plan meets the requirement, and gain approval to proceed with the application and project plan.
Tracks controls engineering project accomplishments by comparing outcomes to plans; summarizing results; keeping management informed.
Signs off on the testing and validation of controls engineering applications. Authorizes applications to be put in production upon successful outcomes of tests.
Ensures project documentation is completed following the approved methodology, tools, and templates.
All other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Education Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field3–7 years of experience in industrial automation or controls engineering
Experience in a leadership role Experience in Allen Bradley PLC’s, Servo Controllers, HMI products, and software.
Knowledge of Fanuc robots – recovery and teaching points on a teach pendant.
Troubleshoot, read, and edit PLC logic and CNC programs.
