Responsibilities:
- Engineer and design HVAC, plumbing, and utility systems for various projects, ensuring compliance with local building codes and industry standards.
- Prepare detailed engineering calculations, specifications, drawings and other construction documents for the installation of mechanical systems.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects and other engineering disciplines to develop project designs and optimize system performance.
- Conduct detailed site surveys to assess existing conditions and identify potential challenges related to mechanical system installations.
- Review and approve shop drawings and submittals for mechanical systems to ensure adherence to design specifications and project requirements.
- Provide technical guidance and support to project teams during estimating, construction, installation, start-up and commissioning phases.
- Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to select appropriate equipment and materials for projects, considering cost, quality, and compatibility.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements, incorporating new technologies and best practices into mechanical system designs.
* This position is primarily for the Fort Wayne, IN location but could work remote if its a good fit!
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
- Five (5) or more years experience in engineering and designing HVAC, plumbing, and utility systems in a design-build setting.
- Proficiency in design software;
Auto Cad, Revit, HAP (or similar), etc. - Strong knowledge of building codes, regulations, and industry standards related to mechanical, plumbing and utility systems.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented approach, with a focus on accuracy and precision in design and documentation.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Ability to pass a drug screen
