Lead Power Analog Controls Design Engineer
Supporting the Power, Analog, and Controls department, the applicant will be responsible for specification, design, analysis and testing of power, analog and controls circuits, sub-systems and systems for airborne and spaceborne applications.
We are currently in the need of professionals with experience in power, analog controls design and architecture development in airborne and spaceborne applications. This individual will establish enduring partnerships through guidance and development of electronic platforms reaching across a broad portfolio of aircraft and spacecraft applications. Innovative thinkers are needed to capitalize on marketplace product development, shape our supplier partnerships, advocate for internal development opportunities, and standardize the design & manufacturing cycles.
The candidate would focus upon business strategies leveraging existing solutions and/or developing novel scalable solutions.
Additionally, the candidate will work with internal and external functional/cross-functional teams developing technology roadmaps, assisting in design and resolving issues in current development efforts; as well as engage, influence and drive future architecture product offerings and proposals.
Essential Functions:
- Program support including mission/requirements definition, concept generation, trade studies, preliminary and final design, modeling and simulation, component selection, integration, test support materials selection, and design documentation.
- Collaboration with manufacturing operation for fabrication in a program team environment.
- Prepare and present design approach and simulations at internal and customer design reviews.
- Support Milestone Reviews, Root Cause Corrective Actions (RCCA) and Failure Review Boards (FRB).
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution with at least 9 years of experience OR a Graduate Degree from an accredited institution with at least 7 years or experience.
- Experience interpreting high level requirements to develop power, analog and controls circuits, sub-systems, system and platform architectures.
- Comprehensive experience of electronic power design, power converter topologies, power switching devices, analog signal conditioning and wave shaping circuit design, control loop theory, compensator design and optimization, rules for stability, thermal management, custom magnetics design, PWB layout and EMI suppression techniques.

Skills:
- Active TS/SCI Clearance is a plus.
- Experience with mission/requirements definition, concept generation, trade studies, preliminary and final design, component selection, integration, test support materials selection, and design documentation.
- Experience collaborating with manufacturing operation for fabrication in a program team environment.
- Experience with Root Cause Corrective Actions (RCCA) and Failure Review Boards (FRB).
- Excellent inter-personal, collaboration and communication skills; ability to interact, engage and effectively collaborate with a cross functional team.
- Ability to collaborate across all levels of Leadership.
- Technical knowledge in spacecraft power subsystems which include solar arrays, batteries, power topologies and charging systems, power control/switching techniques, regulation, distribution, and power quality
- H-infinity controls knowledge.
