Distribution Operations Analyst / Field Support Specialist

The Distribution Operations Analyst / Field Support Specialist is responsible for supporting distribution operations through technical analysis, field coordination, and data-driven decision-making. This role is primarily office-based but requires regular visits to substations, utility facilities, and field work sites to support operational activities, project execution, and system performance evaluations.

The ideal candidate will have utility industry experience and a strong understanding of electric distribution operations. Experience working directly on utility line crews or field operations is preferred but not required. The successful candidate will work extensively with Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) data to identify trends, support operational improvements, and assist in troubleshooting system issues. Training on AMI systems and applications will be provided.

• Coordinate work activities within assigned teams and with external parties, including contractors and vendors, to support routine technical assignments and field operations.
• Analyze and interpret AMI and operational data to identify trends, investigate issues, and support business objectives.
• Perform technical assignments requiring analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and knowledge of electric distribution systems.
• Participate in the planning, scheduling, and coordination of outage response, maintenance activities, and project work.
• Support field investigations and conduct site visits as necessary to evaluate operational conditions and validate technical findings.
• Make informed decisions independently and contribute to team-based decision-making and consensus-building processes.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to exchange information, resolve issues, and achieve operational goals.
• Provide guidance, training, and technical support to less experienced employees as needed.
• Assist in the development and implementation of process improvements that enhance system reliability, operational efficiency, and customer service.
• Support company initiatives focused on environmental stewardship while maintaining safe, reliable, and cost-effective electric service.
• Maintain compliance with all company safety policies, regulatory requirements, and operating procedures.
