Customer Design Supervisor

Job Summary

Manage technical activities such as analyzing service requests, designing and drafting work orders, estimating and requesting construction materials and equipment, maintaining mapping systems, and other technical tasks required to support the distribution system.

• Provide leadership and technical services direction to establish a high‑performing engineering design team.
• Ensure all employees in the Distribution Design group develop methods and approaches by maintaining close involvement, listening to ideas, needs, and recommendations.
• Promote a customer‑focused attitude and convey a thorough understanding of customer expectations.
• Monitor design, material, and work progress on department projects to control costs, meet budget estimates, and ensure codes, standards, and schedules are met.
• Coordinate with other departments to maintain accurate maps of the distribution system.
• Develop employee skills and knowledge, and promote standard compliance.

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related discipline with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the design of power system electrical distribution facilities.
• Associate's degree in electrical/electronic technology or related discipline with a minimum of 7 years’ experience in the design of power system electrical distribution facilities.
• High school diploma or GED with a minimum of 9 years’ experience in the design of power system electrical distribution facilities.

Compensation Grade: SP20-008

Salary Range: $98,993.00 – $

Job requires sedentary work. The employee may need to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally or frequently and may need to walk or stand for brief periods of time. The majority of the work is performed while sitting.
