Theatre Technician – Audio (A1)

Hours vary, including evenings, weekends, and event days.

Mix, maintain, and elevate every sound experience for our shows.

What You'll Do

Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot all audio systems at Foellinger Theatre. Mix FOH and/or monitors for events, coordinate with touring crews, and ensure audio equipment and systems run safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate FOH/monitor consoles and manage PA, monitors, wireless mics, and playback
• Assist touring engineers with setup, patching, tuning, and sound checks
• Maintain, repair, and inventory audio equipment
• Supervise audio stagehands or techs during setup and strike
• Ensure safe cable management, power distribution, and adherence to safety protocols

What You Bring | Education & Experience

• High school diploma; advanced training in concert sound preferred
• 2+ years' experience mixing live music or theater sound
• Proficiency with digital and analog audio consoles

Technical Skills & Knowledge

• Strong troubleshooting under pressure
• Ability to read input lists, tech riders, and stage plots
• Comfortable working evenings, weekends, outdoors, and lifting up to 75 lbs

Required Certifications

• Valid Indiana Driver's License if using City vehicle
