Accounting Manager $90K–$110K – Fort Wayne, IN About the Job
The Accounting Manager oversees the organization’s accounting operations while driving high‑quality financial analysis, accurate reporting, and strategic financial insight. This role is ideal for someone who is technically strong and strategically minded—a leader who can manage day‑to‑day accounting functions while contributing meaningfully to financial planning and organizational direction.
Financial Analysis & Strategic Insight- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial analysis, including variance and trend analysis.
- Build financial models to support forecasting, budgeting, and long‑term planning.
- Evaluate operational performance and identify opportunities for cost optimization and revenue growth.
- Provide data‑driven recommendations to senior leadership.
- Support scenario planning and risk assessment initiatives.
- Partner with department leaders to assess financial performance and resource allocation.
- Prepare and oversee accurate, timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Maintain and enhance internal reporting processes, tools, and dashboards.
- Coordinate external audits and manage relationships with auditors.
- Develop executive‑level financial presentations and board‑ready reports.
- Ensure strong internal controls and uphold reporting integrity.
- Oversee the general ledger, month‑end close, and account reconciliations.
- Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and fixed assets.
- Maintain and update accounting policies and procedures.
- Ensure tax compliance and collaborate with external tax advisors.
- Drive process improvements and support system enhancements.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred).
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
- Proven financial analysis and modeling capabilities.
- Solid understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
- Ability to communicate complex financial information to non‑financial stakeholders.
- Proficiency with accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
