Job SummaryThe Mortgage Processor is to ensure a timely process from application to closing and funding of mortgage transactions. Review mortgage loan requests as they are submitted, assessing borrower’s financial situation and tailor appropriate solutions by maintaining a comprehensive understanding of various loan programs, including Conventional, FHA, VA USDA, New Construction and Portfolio. Skillfully structure, assemble, prepare, verify loan, facilitating the underwriting, closing, and funding processes by verifying and updating information, investigating inconsistencies, and correcting errors.
Act as point of contact between Mortgage Loan Originator, and Underwriter. Lock Loans with customer and investor, prepare lock documents and request documents required to complete the credit file for underwriting. Structure and price loans accurately.
High school diploma or equivalent required;
Associate degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or a related field preferred. Two to three years of consumer lending, mortgage lending, financial services, or related experience preferred. Knowledge of real estate lending and secondary market guidelines preferred. Knowledge of lending-related Federal and State regulations. Working knowledge of the Credit Union's products, services, and core database system preferred. Current NMLS registration required, or ability to obtain and maintain registration.
Must be able to travel to assigned work locations as scheduled.
- Consistently manage loan pipelines to achieve timely application-to-close processing.
- Time‑sensitive documents are delivered within regulatory guidelines.
- Assist Mortgage Lending Manager in development of processes to aid efficiency.
