Job Summary:
Responsible for managing and processing credit bureau related items for the credit union. This role oversees all aspects of credit reporting, including communication with members, the credit bureaus and internal departments. Duties include handling members’ disputes, monitoring internal reports to ensure reporting accuracy, and serving as the main point of contact for all credit bureau–related matters.
Additionally, this role provides backup support for incoming department phone calls to ensure coverage during lunch hours and employee absences (e.g., vacations).
Qualifications:
Required:
Must have a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
At least one (1) year previous customer service experience, either in accounts payable, sales or lending.
Reliable transportation to and from work
Essential Elements of the Job:
- Respond to member disputes through E-Oscar, mail, and email per credit bureau notification requirements
- Coordinate responses to Consumer Credit Repair Services acting on behalf of members
- Communicate with members, credit bureaus, and internal departments throughout the investigation process
- Investigate and audit accounts to ensure accurate credit reporting
- Review and work internal reports to validate the accuracy of tradeline data submitted to credit bureaus
- Respond to and process credit bureau notifications received through E-Oscar and mail
Compliance & Regulatory Oversight
- Partner with Internal Audit to ensure compliance with the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA)
- Address and resolve member complaints submitted through agencies such as the BBB and NCUA
- Maintain adherence to internal policies and regulatory standards related to credit reporting practices
Professional Presence
- Maintain a positive and professional image, consistently embodying the Credit Union’s mission, vision, and values.

- Actively participate in seminars/training and workshops as required.
- Other administrative duties as assigned.
Dispute Management & Service Responsiveness
- Demonstrates timely and accurate resolution of member disputes across E-Oscar, mail, and email within required deadlines
- Maintains clear, professional communication with all stakeholders during the dispute resolution process
- Strong attention to detail to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Clear and professional communication with members, insurance providers, and internal teams.
- Ability to explain complex claim processes and loan protection products in an understandable manner.
- Strong interpersonal skills to manage sensitive situations with empathy and professionalism.
- Applies knowledge of the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) to ensure compliant credit reporting practices
- Collaborates with Internal Audit to support compliance reviews and uphold regulatory standards
- Handles escalated complaints from agencies such as the BBB and NCUA with professionalism and adherence to policy

Employee reports directly to the Mortgage Lending Manager. The position is a Grade 6.
