It is the responsibility of the Family Support Technician to provide the highest quality Participant Assistance and Care (PAC) services to clients as they work one-on-one in the home and/or in the community to help them achieve their goals, ensuring that Partners in Autism, IN-FSSA, and accreditation standards are being met.

Duties and Responsibilities
:

Maintain Partners in Autism’s company culture standards and best practices

Assist clients by helping them participate in and complete all functional activities of daily living, as well as being a part of the community

Support appropriate client behavior across all settings.

Coordinate shifts with the client/their family to meet their needs within the availability of the technician

Make sure the Individual Support Plan for PAC services, as outlined by Partners in Autism and IN-FSSA, is being completed for each client

Communicate with the Director about accomplishments, concerns, and incidents promptly

Respond to all correspondence from the organization in a timely manner

Fill out all required paperwork properly and on time

Work with the Director of Life Skills and Career Development to ensure quality records are being maintained

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age

High School Diploma

Must pass a thorough background check

Must complete trainings, including the HCSP Certification, before working alone with clients

Preferred experience working with individuals with special needs, especially with individuals on the autism spectrum

Must have a valid Driver’s License and proof of vehicle registration and insurance that covers personal injury, loss of life, and property damage

Must have the ability to communicate effectively with technology and a phone/computer to access required documentation and payroll systems

Must be able to work comfortably in a variety of settings and tolerate varying levels of noise

Must complete all company orientations and trainings

Must pass a TB screening

Must pass and maintain a CPR/First Aid/AED with hands-on certification

Physical Requirements
:

Must be able to meet client PAC needs, which can change based on the environment and may include physical bending, stooping, lifting of over 50 lbs, standing or sitting for long periods of time, and repetitive actions.
