- Bold Compassion
The Therapist provides direct behavioral health services to individuals and families, focusing on maternal mental health and family well‑being. This role supports clients through diagnostic and assessment services, counseling, psychotherapy, and psychoeducation. This position will also facilitate groups to support mental health and will coordinate care with other program staff and community providers.
The Therapist works collaboratively with the Mental Health Program Director, Nurse Family Partnership home‑visiting team, and other program staff to ensure holistic, trauma‑informed, and culturally responsive care.
Duties and Responsibilities Direct Clinical Services- Provide direct clinical services including assessment, diagnostic evaluation, counseling, and psychotherapy.
- Provide evidence‑based treatment such as Child Parent and Psychotherapy (CPP), Trauma‑Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF‑CBT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI).
- Provide crisis interventions.
- Provide information and referral to participants for community resources.
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans.
- Conduct depression and mental health screenings by utilizing the Edinburgh Depression Scale as an assessment tool and conduct stress reduction.
- Coordinate care and maintain necessary communication and reporting with referral sources and other involved parties as approved by client.
- Demonstrate good clinical judgement and decision making.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA and organizational standards.
- Maintain effective working relationships with clinical team and community referral sources.
- Participate in clinical supervision with HMB Maternal Mental Health Director to develop skills, ensure ethical and competent client care.
- Participate in case reviews and team meetings with the Nurse Family Partnership team as required.
- When needed, participate in community outreach events and education efforts.
- Maintain an active role in the community and other locations where behavior health service interventions may be relevant to preconception, pregnant, postpartum and parenting women and their families.
- Ensure compliance with ethical, legal, and professional standards in client care.
- Participate in required trainings and maintain certifications, including PMH‑C (Perinatal Mental Health Certification) if applicable.
- Maintain tracking forms, statistical information, documentation and reporting in a detailed, timely manner.
- Communicate clearly, concisely, and in a tactful, professional manner.
- Promote a culture of respect, cultural sensitivity, and trauma‑informed practice.
- Share accurate information and represent Healthier Moms and Babies in a professional manner within the community.
- Take initiative and responsibility for decisions as an individual and as a staff member of HMB.
- Maintain a positive and collaborative work environment and experience for co‑workers and clients.
- Adhere to all organizational and departmental policies, procedures, and practices; maintain proper attendance and punctuality.
