Overview
Under the direction of the Marketing Manager, the Entry-Level Web Developer supports the design, development, and maintenance of Master Spas’ digital platforms, including corporate websites and e-commerce properties. This position combines Shopify development with full-stack web development responsibilities to deliver engaging, high-performing, and user-friendly web experiences.
The ideal candidate is a motivated, detail-oriented problem-solver eager to learn and grow in a fast-paced, collaborative environment while contributing to the company’s marketing and online sales initiatives.
Responsibilities Web & Shopify Development- Assist in developing and customizing Shopify themes based on provided design specifications.
- Support the creation and maintenance of corporate websites using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP.
- Help optimize site performance by improving page speed, metadata, alt tags, and responsive functionality.
- Perform basic troubleshooting and debugging of web and Shopify-related issues.
- Work closely with senior developers, designers, and copywriters to deliver cohesive and polished digital experiences.
- Participate in monthly site audits and assist in generating performance reports.
- Collaborate across teams to support marketing initiatives and ensure brand consistency across all platforms.
- Contribute to database management and DNS/domain tasks as needed.
- Maintain familiarity with version control systems such as Git for code management.
- Stay up to date with web technologies, Shopify updates, and industry best practices.
- Learn and apply web development best practices for performance, security, and usability.
- Participate in team meetings, code reviews, and continuous learning initiatives to strengthen technical and professional skills.
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Web Development, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or related field.
- Candidates with relevant certifications or a strong portfolio demonstrating Shopify or front-end/full-stack development proficiency will be considered.
- Basic understanding of Shopify and the Liquid templating language.
- Familiarity with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP.
- Exposure to version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Interest in SEO, user experience (UX), and responsive design.
- Strong attention to detail, willingness to learn, and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Candidates must provide samples of previous work or a professional portfolio showcasing relevant web development projects. Acceptable examples include Shopify themes, custom apps, personal websites, or other projects that demonstrate development skills and creativity.
