Data Reliability Specialist

As the Data Reliability Specialist, the individual will ensure the accuracy, consistency, and availability of data across USSTRATCOM’s systems and processes. In this role, the data reliability specialist will work with a cross‑functional team, including cyber security engineers and analysts, as well as government cyber POCs to ensure compliance to federal and local cybersecurity policies.

Responsibilities
  • Proactively monitor data systems, identify potential issues, and troubleshoot problems quickly to minimize downtime
  • Define and implement data quality standards, monitor data accuracy, and work with teams to resolve data‑related issues
  • Optimize data pipelines for reliability, efficiency, and performance, ensuring smooth data flow from source to destination
  • Set up monitoring for data pipelines, databases, etc., and establish alerts for anomalies
  • Monitor data pipelines, identify and resolve inconsistencies, and perform quality checks to maintain data integrity
  • Develop and implement validation processes, troubleshoot data‑related issues, and collaborate with data engineers and analysts to optimize system performance
  • Ensure data backups, redundancy, and recovery mechanisms are in place to safeguard against loss or corruption
  • Support critical operations and decision‑making processes across the enterprise
  • Develop plans for data system restoration and manage backups
  • Be familiar with intrusion detection and prevention measures and practices
  • Participate in data incident postmortems, diagnose root causes, and implement solutions to prevent future occurrences
  • Work closely with application, data platform, product, and data engineering teams to ensure data reliability throughout the development lifecycle
  • Automate routine maintenance tasks to improve efficiency and reduce manual workload
  • Develop and implement data governance policies and procedures to ensure data quality and compliance
  • Develop and execute tests to validate data quality and ensure adherence to business rules
  • Stay updated on the latest technologies and best practices in data reliability and implement improvements to the organization’s data infrastructure
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports detailing task and responsibility status
  • Draft authorization artifacts in accordance with the customer's requirements
  • Monitor and execute compliance as defined by DoD policy and guidance
  • Attend and lead meetings, work in a collaborative team environment to provide network security, stability, and continuity
  • Perform other tasks as required by OSC and the Government contracting office
Required Qualifications /

Education and Experience
  • Must have and obtain an active Top Secret Security Clearance with SCI eligibility
  • Possesses a B.S. in a related field and 10+ years of database administration experience including experience with Oracle databases
  • Must possess a DoD Cyber 8140 IAT Level 1 - A+ or CND, or Network+ Certification
  • Proficiency in managing a diverse range of databases, including Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, Azure SQL, and Azure Data Factory
  • Ability to translate customer requirements into a database structure
  • Strong grasp of advanced database security practices
  • Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Experience building and maintaining Content Management Platforms
  • Mastery of scripting languages (e.g., Power Shell, Python) for automation
  • Experience with creating and formulating workflows
