Overview
The IT Business Analyst (BA) I - Supply Chain will work closely with all stakeholders to maintain a roadmap for the delivery of digital capabilities to solve business problems. The IT BA I - Supply Chain will lead the efforts of gathering, validating, and translating business requirements into design and development specifications to deliver digital solutions to the enterprise. They will also act as the liaison between development staff, management, and end users.
Education & Experience Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, Project Management related field or equivalent demonstrated skills and abilities required.
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in an Information Technology field or applicable department is required; previous BA or digital product manager/owner experience is preferred.
- Understanding of and experience working with and/or supporting, ERP systems (Microsoft D365 preferred) and related technology solutions.
- Collaborate with business partners and IT staff to maintain a roadmap to deliver technologies and digital capabilities that provide process improvements and have a positive impact on business performance in the areas of supply chain, logistics, and inventory management.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders to provide excellent customer service; keep stakeholder(s) informed of progress, changes, risks, and problems throughout the various phases of solution delivery.
- Support business partners within software solutions that are used, specifically, ERP software.
- Anticipate changes in technologies and understand the impact on the business processes, work to minimize negative impacts while looking to leverage new features/functionality to drive process improvements; develop a deep understanding of current systems and processes and analyze impact of changes as new solutions are introduced.
- Monitor, track, and respond to requests from stakeholders; proactively leverage requests, service desk tickets, and observations to initiate discussions impacting the digital capabilities roadmap for assigned business areas.
- Drive collaboration between various internal stakeholder(s) and IT to aid in the execution of all stages of projects from concept and requirements to final hand-off to end users; interpret and translate business needs into technical requirements.
- Create, edit, and update test plans/work instructions and educate appropriate stakeholders on how to use/test solution; perform initial testing to ensure agreed upon solution(s) are met before handoff to stakeholder for testing.
- Identify training opportunities for end users of existing technologies.
- Perform other duties as requested by management.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective customer relationships, gain true insight into the customer's needs, identify opportunities that maximize enterprise value, and deliver solution roadmaps that align with technology capabilities.
- Must be a critical thinker/problem solver with the ability to understand complex business processes, consider all relevant factors, and use appropriate decision-making criteria and principles to be able to come to a solution (systems thinker).
- Ability to negotiate with and influence stakeholders to create alignment and ownership around a solution and shared objectives.
- Ability to make sound decisions, even in the absence of complete information and articulate the reason for the decision; ability to work with some level of ambiguity.
- Must have strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize work and manage multiple/varying requests.
- Ability to take on new and challenging opportunities with a sense of urgency, high energy, and enthusiasm; be a self-starter and have excellent organizational skills with ability to meet commitments and deadlines.
- Ability to locate inefficient processes and drill into the real issue, looking for ways to improve the process.
- Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills to create clarity between all stakeholder(s) so there is an understanding by all.
- Possess excellent interpersonal skills, providing timely and helpful information to others across the organization, encouraging open expression of diverse ideas and opinions.
