Camino Financial and Fundation have combined to create a new, full spectrum SMB lender providing credit solutions to fund the growth of small businesses. This new Company will offer best-in-class lending solutions and will be one of the few independent, full-spectrum, multi-channel financing providers in the SMB space.

We are seeking a Chief Technology Officer with a deep background in fintech, exceptional architecture skills, and a proven track record of building complex software products or platforms. The CTO will play a pivotal role in shaping our technology roadmap and driving the technical strategy to support our company’s growth and innovation in the industry.
The CTO will report directly to the CEO and be part of an experienced and high energy leadership team. Key members of this team have operated at enterprise scale, as well as in startups and growth stage companies through exit. The combined entity recently closed on a significant funding transaction, and has strong support from its key investor, LL Funds.

Key Responsibilities:

Technology Strategy:
Develop and execute a comprehensive technology strategy and roadmap that aligns with the company’s business objectives, focusing on innovation and scalability.

Product Development:
Oversee the development and enhancement of our products or services, ensuring they meet high-quality standards and customer needs.

Product Architecture:
Lead the design and architecture of this complex end to end platform and all integrations; ensuring scalability, security, and high-performance.

Technical Leadership:
Provide technical leadership and guidance to the engineering and product development teams. Foster a culture of innovation, excellence, and collaboration.

Technical Team Building:
Build and manage a high-performing engineering team, including software developers, architects, and other technical professionals. Mentor, coach, and inspire team members to achieve their full potential.

Technology Stack:
Evaluate and choose appropriate technologies, tools, and frameworks to support product development and maintain a robust and flexible technology stack.

Quality Assurance:
Implement best practices for quality assurance and testing to ensure the reliability and security of our software products.

Vendor Relationships:
Build and maintain strategic partnerships with technology vendors and service providers.

Security:
Oversee and enforce best practices for data security and compliance.

Innovation:
Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies, and identify opportunities to leverage new advancements to drive business growth.

Strategic Partnerships:
Collaborate with external partners, vendors, and third-party technology providers to enhance our product offerings.

Budget and Resource Management:
Manage the technology budget, allocate resources effectively, and drive cost-effective solutions while achieving business goals.

Risk Management:

Identify and mitigate technical risks while ensuring business continuity.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; a master’s degree is a plus.

• Proven experience as a CTO or in a senior technical leadership role in a fintech environment (lending would be a plus).

• A strong track record of designing and delivering complex fintech software products or platforms.

• Deep expertise in software architecture, system design, and technical leadership.

• Experience building and managing API integrations with third-party platforms

• Experience architecting cloud-based systems, server/data security, and enterprise-level platform and application development across the full tech spectrum

• Material understanding of the financial services tech stack and the related partner/integration ecosystem, including lender/originator-side technology is a huge plus.

• Familiarity with fintech industry regulations and compliance requirements.

• Excellent communication and leadership skills to inspire, guide, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

• Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for innovation.

• Experience working in a startup or growth stage company.
