Location: Fort Wayne, IN
Pay: $20-23/hour
Duration: 6-month contract (potential for extension)
Schedule: Full-time, overtime available

Overview

We are seeking motivated Data Center Technicians to support installation and decommissioning of network and cabling infrastructure within a fast-paced data center environment. This is a hands-on, physical role ideal for candidates with cabling, construction, or mechanical experience who are looking to grow their skills in the data center industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Install and decommission network and cabling infrastructure
• Perform copper and fiber cable installation, routing, and dressing
• Pull and terminate low-voltage cabling (Cat5, Cat6, coax, fiber)
• Install server racks, ladder racking, and seismic bracing
• Read and interpret blueprints, floor plans, and design documents
• Label, test, and troubleshoot cabling systems
• Maintain data center cleanliness and organization
• Follow all safety, quality, and production standards
• Provide updates on project progress and collaborate with team members

Required Skills & Experience

• Experience with cabling, telecom, construction, or mechanical work
• Strong work ethic and ability to perform physical labor
• Ability to climb ladders, lift up to 50 lbs, and work on raised platforms
• Familiarity with basic telecom hand tools
• Understanding of wiring schemes and testing methods
• Ability to pull and terminate low-voltage cable
• Experience with data center or construction site environments
• Ability to read and understand blueprints and floor plans
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Nice to Have

• Experience with fiber splicing or testing (OTDR, DSX 5000)
• Knowledge of MDF/IDF layouts
• Experience installing or working with server racks and infrastructure
• Experience in copper and fiber troubleshooting

Work Environment

• Fast-paced data center environment
• Physically demanding role requiring lifting, standing, and bending for extended periods

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Fort Wayne, IN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
