Summary/Objective
:
In this role, you will provide maintenance of the PC’s by analyzing requirements, resolving problems, installing hardware and software solutions, and supporting the internal IS Helpdesk. You will be responsible for administration and internal support of PCs, printers, and related equipment. Tasks include end user support and training, inventory tracking, and performing PC maintenance, upgrades and configurations, setting up cell phones and voicemail boxes.

Assists IS Manager and IS Specialist in server management.

Essential Functions
  • Administers Help Desk
  • Provides PC and cell phone support
  • Diagnoses and repair PC and cell phone issues
  • Trains users to use PC and cell phones issued by SCAN
Manages Inventory
  • Purchases new equipment as required
  • Purchases additional software as required
  • Assigns equipment to users
  • Maintains the life cycle of equipment
Manages User Account
  • Manages Active Directory user objects
  • Enrolls users in various other applications as needed (Badge system, text system, reimbursement systems, etc.)
Trains Users
  • Trains new users in orientation SCAN specific processes and applications
  • Reorients existing employees with SCAN specific processes and applications
  • Trains users on the use of TV Cart and Room TV’s
  • Trains refresher course for SCAN applications and facilitates learning environment for staff
Handles the recycling of old equipment Competencies

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities

Work Environment
  • Normal office environment

Physical Demands
  • Requires sitting, bending, stooping, crawling and stretching
  • Requires the ability to operate computers and multifunction devices
  • Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare and communicate appropriate reports
  • Requires ability to work under stressful conditions
  • Requires the ability to lift 50 pounds above the head
  • Requires ability to work for extended periods of time at a computer
  • Requires ability to move and install computer equipment

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available between the "core" work hours of 8a.m. to 8p.m. and must work 40 hours each week to maintain full-time status.

Travel

20% of travel is required/expected for this position.

Required Education And Experience
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in information systems environment.
Preferred Education And Experience
  • Associate’s degree in Information Technologies, or closely related field.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
  • Ability to diagnose, solve, and implement fixes for technical issues
  • Ability to train users one on one or in group settings
  • Possess strong customer service skills as well as policy enforcement
  • Have strong working knowledge of common office applications such as Microsoft Office
  • Demonstrate high level of professionalism in dealing with issues of confidentiality
