UTEC, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented, and results-driven Supply Chain Management Specialist to join our team in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Based at our centralized support location, this position plays a critical role in supporting Engineering Change Notices (ECNs), New Product Introductions (NPIs), and supply chain operations across multiple UTEC manufacturing facilities. The ideal candidate will serve as a key liaison between Engineering, Product Management, Procurement, and Operations to ensure the successful implementation of engineering changes, timely execution of product launches, and uninterrupted material flow.
This position requires strong analytical skills, exceptional organizational abilities, and the capability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This is an onsite position. Employees may be eligible to work remotely one day per week upon successful completion of training.
- Manage assigned commodities and supplier relationships to support production requirements and customer demand.
- Plan, analyze, procure, and expedite materials through accurate purchase order and scheduling agreement management.
- Utilize MRP and inventory planning tools to balance material availability, inventory optimization, and working capital objectives.
- Analyze inventory levels, consumption trends, and forecast requirements to ensure continuous production support.
- Generate and review reports to proactively identify potential shortages, excess inventory, and supply chain risks.
- Support inventory reduction initiatives while maintaining targeted service and delivery performance levels.
- Monitor supplier delivery performance and collaborate with suppliers to ensure on-time fulfillment of purchase orders and schedule agreements.
- Conduct supplier reviews, communicate open-order status, and elevate delivery concerns when necessary.
- Utilize root cause analysis and sound business judgment to identify and resolve supply chain challenges.
- Resolve Accounts Payable invoice discrepancies and supplier payment exceptions to ensure timely payment processing.
- Partner with the Quality Department to address supplier quality concerns and coordinate the return and disposition of non-conforming materials.
- Support supplier recovery efforts and corrective action implementation when delivery or quality performance does not meet expectations.
- Coordinate all purchasing and supply chain activities associated with Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) and New Product Introductions (NPIs).
- Collaborate closely with Engineering, Product Management, Procurement, and Operations teams to ensure engineering changes and product launches are implemented on schedule.
- Issue supplier Requests for Quotation (RFQs) and support sourcing activities related to new and revised components.
- Create and maintain material master data in SAP, ensuring compliance with system requirements and company standards.
- Analyze and manage inventory obsolescence resulting from engineering changes and product transitions.
- Track material readiness, supplier commitments, and delivery status to support successful product launch timing.
- Participate in weekly change management meetings, maintain action item tracking, and communicate implementation progress to stakeholders.
